Kindergarten/Drop-In Daycare Center Volunteer
Volunteer at a kindergarten or drop-in care center in Dakar and provide help and support to street children known as Talibés.
Conversational English Teacher
Teach conversational English in the historic town of Dakar. Volunteers work in local schools, universities, or at adult evening classes, with class attendance ranging from 30-60 students.
Kindergarten Classroom Renovation & Decoration
As a volunteer, you can learn French from a qualified language teacher and practice your conversation skills daily with local people in Dakar. You can also give back to the community by getting involved in renovating and decorating classrooms in a kindergarten.
Mentor A Child
Have a positive impact on the lives of Sénégalese children in kindergartens and centers for street children. Your time will be spent running fun and educational games and activities, and renovating and decorating a local school or community center.
Basketball Coach
On this project, you will work with children aged between 8 and 16 years old in schools in and around Saint Louis. Working alongside a local coach, you will help with a range of training methods.
Soccer Coach
Volunteer in Dakar and assist a local coach with training sessions each afternoon. As a volunteer, you will help to plan coaching sessions, supervise warm ups and teach new skills.
Medical Intern
Work as an intern alongside local doctors and nurses at a public hospital in Dakar. There are a variety of departments within the hospital in which one could work including pediatrics, maternity, and ENT.
Volunteer Nurse
Many medical institutions in Sénégal are understaffed and that is why help from interns is needed. You can intern as a nurse and gain experience in a variety of different departments.
Cultural Music Intern
Join a Sénégalese group of musicians while learning about the culture and history of Sénégal.
Learn French & Wolof
Take part in an intensive stand-alone language course or sign up for language tuition alongside your regular placement. You can choose from French and Wolof
Entrepreneurial Mentor
The aim of this internship is to help the older street children of Dakar, known as talibés, build a sustainable future for themselves through small-scale entrepreneurship.
